Redondo Orthopedic Physical Therapy recently announced the acquisition of Peak Performance Physical Therapy in Rancho Palos Verdes. Under the new name, Peak Orthopedic Physical Therapy will now include both the current Redondo Beach location, and a newly expanded Rancho Palos Verdes location with a 3,000 square foot, state of the art facility. Peak Orthopedic Physical Therapy is looking forward to continuing its’ exceptional quality of care to the South Bay community with this landmark event.
Peak Orthopedic Physical Therapy is innovating by moving beyond the standard approach to treating an existing physical problem. Their unique MedEx program combines the physical therapy approach with a personal, specific and individualized training and exercise program in a safe, friendly and comfortable environment.
Steve Tyssee, DPT and owner of Peak Orthopedic Physical Therapy, with over 15 years’ experience in the profession, says that “The sports medicine mindset as a preventative approach to physical therapy is to get better, but we want to teach you how to move properly so you don’t get injured again”.
The MedEx program is especially helpful for individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Cardiac diseases, who might feel intimidated by conventional health clubs and gyms and need more attention.
Seema Patel, a Physical Therapist in the Redondo Beach office says the biggest hurdle is the lack of knowledge and experience their patients have. “Patients come in and after an evaluation, we educate them on the body, how to move and how to compensate for any injury or weakness,” says Patel. “We work on function and balance, and as their endurance improves and small milestones are reached, our patients realize that the program works and they are moving and exercising without pain.”
