The LA County COVID-19 Rent Relief Program will accept applications from August 17 through August 31, 2020.
Program Details
The LA County COVID-19 Rent Relief application period will open on August 17, 2020 and be accepted until August 31, 2020 for income-eligible renters in Los Angeles County. This program is being administered by the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA). Program details can be found at https://wwwa.lacda.org/programs/rent-relief.
Eligible Renters
This program is open to renters in Los Angeles County, with the exception of residents living in the City of Los Angeles. Assistance will be provided to income-eligible households financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including:
• Those who are currently at 30% of the median income can receive assistance up to $10,000.
• Those who are currently at 50% of the median income can receive assistance up to $7,500.
Eligible renters must qualify based on income and have struggled to pay rent, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Your landlord must provide a W-9 and sign a participation agreement in order to have the rent paid on behalf of you as the tenant.
There will be limited funds available for this program and it is anticipated that the number of eligible applicants will exceed available funding. A LOTTERY OF ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS WILL BE RUN AT THE END OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS.
