Classical Crossroads’ “The Interludes” concert series presents Juan-Miguel Hernandez, Violist, Fine Arts Quartet, Professor, Royal Academy of Music, London, with Pianist Jacopo Giacopuzzi today, Saturday, January 14 at 3 p.m. at First Lutheran Church & School.
The youngest member of the legendary Fine Arts Quartet – “One of the gold-plated names in chamber music” (Washington Post) – Juan-Miguel Hernandez is also the newly appointed Professor of Viola at the Royal Academy of Music in London. The First Prize winner of the 16th International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria, with top prizes at the National Canadian Music Competition and the 9th National Sphinx Competition in 2006, Juan-Miguel has appeared as a guest soloist with the Atlanta, Seattle, and Colorado symphonies, and has toured worldwide. From 2005 to 2011, he was a member of the iPalpiti “world-class” orchestra of international laureates based in Los Angeles. Born in Montreal, Canada in 1985, Juan-Miguel is a graduate of the Colburn Conservatory and the New England Conservatory.
