Edo Bites Grand Opening Recap

May 28, 2021

Last night I attended the Grand Opening of Edo Bites in Manhattan Village.

Edo Bites is the newest eatery from chef Edoardo Baldi, proprietor of e. baldi Ristorante in Beverly Hills. Edo Bites has additional locations in The Grove, Pacific Palisades and Beverly Hills.

It’s a small shop designed for take-out. You can order at the counter and settle at a table on the patio or the outdoor courtyard.

The menu features Italian dishes from the Tuscan region, with a couple of non-Italian items like the Fish Taco and Crispy Chicken sandwich. In addition to starters, soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and entrees, they also offer an all-day breakfast menu.

It was a breezy evening and attendees enjoyed music by Retrofit as they gathered in the courtyard. The event was also a fundraiser for Soroptimists of Manhattan Beach. The city was well represented with several local business owners, City Council Members, the Chamber of Commerce and Soroptimists.

Guests noshed on the Chopped Romaine Salad, Minestrone Soup, Roberta’s Meatballs, Ham & Brie Sandwiches, French Fries, Tartufo Pizza, berry tarts and more. Each bite was more delicious than the next, but it was the Tartufo Pizza that took my breath away. The incredibly thin crust is topped with stracciattela, fontina and truffle oil. It was so flavorful, I made a note in my phone so I wouldn’t forget. I’ll travel out of my way for that pizza.

Manhattan Village is still undergoing refurbishment in some areas, but that hasn’t stopped the community from coming out in droves, and Edo Bites is a terrific and delicious addition to the local dining scene.
