The BeachLife Festival is proud to announce the culinary lineup for its sophomore SideStage Pop-Up Restaurant Experience. The three-day immersive event, set to take place May 3-5, 2020 on the sands of Redondo Beach, will feature a stacked bill of musical artists who embody Southern California’s signature laid back beach culture and sound. On BeachLife’s mainstage, festival-goers are offered the unique opportunity to dine alongside performances thanks to the festival’s unique integration of music and upscale cuisine at SideStage.
On the creative frontlines of the SideStage restaurant is Executive Chef David Lefevre – the owner of signature Manhattan Beach establishments Manhattan Beach Post and Fishing with Dynamite – who has hand-selected three special guests to curate unique menus that pair with the setlists of each festival performance. Featured this year will be Bravo TV Top Chef Nyesha Arrington, James Beard award winner Sherry Yard, and rising star Chef Jonathan Whitener, who will present their multi-course menus alongside the likes of Ziggy Marley and Stephen Marley’s 75th Bob Marley Celebration, Counting Crows, Steve Miller Band, Fitz & The Tantrums, UB40 feat. Ali Campbell and Astro, Blues Traveler, and more throughout the festival weekend.
Following last year’s successful launch, Chef David Lefevre is looking forward to expanding on the SideStage idea, noting “I’m excited to team up with BeachLife again and to build on the tremendous dining experience we offered last year. Cooking on stage while collaborating with iconic musicians is the most unique food and concert experience I’ve ever been a part of. It’s a true bucket-list experience for food and music lovers.”
With BeachLife co-founder Allen Sanford being a restaurateur himself, the idea to merge food and live music was a no-brainer. Where most festivals focus solely on the lineup, BeachLife excels in its multisensory approach and offers attendees an opportunity to experience the festival with more than just their eyes and ears. With the inaugural installation of SideStage being lauded as “the best restaurant in the South Bay” (OC Register), the pop-up has solidified itself as a true fine dining experience. This year, while much of the action will be taking place during the headlining sets, SideStage will also be offering a special brunch option on Saturday, May 2 with Sugar Ray and a “Yacht Rock” brunch featuring Ambrosia & Friends on Sunday, May 3. And since BeachLife is all about offering its attendees an unparalleled, integrative experience, SideStage diners will also have exclusive access to a dedicated viewing area for photos (starting five minutes after each set starts) and will receive a signed menu as a takeaway.
SideStage features a $150 per person prix fixe menu, excluding tax/tip, and alcohol will be a separate charge, and each seat includes a signed collectors menu by the Chef. Diners will have access to a premium full cash bar and specially curated wine list only available on the SideStage. Patrons will also be permitted in a dedicated viewing area where an exclusive photographer will capture diners’ BeachLife Festival experience.
SideStage will accept reservations on all three days of the festival, at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3 being the first time slot and reservations will last around 90 minutes, coinciding with the artist sets on the Main Stage. A schedule of availability will be released in early March. Reservations are extremely limited and will only be permitted to BeachLife ticket purchasers. Reservations can be made through the Beach Life Website at http://beachlifefestival.com/sidestage-ticketing/ beginning March 11th. Reservations are non-refundable and there are no cancellations.
