The City of Redondo Beach will observe Veterans Day at the Veterans Memorial in Veterans Park at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 11.
The solemn observance will include reflection and remembrance, music and commentary, and honors all those members of the military who served their country. In addition to the Keynote speaker, local elected officials and other military dignitaries will also participate. Keynote speaker is Colonel Ann Igl, USAF, Commander 61st Air Base Group, Los Angeles Air Force Base.
Music will be provided by the 40th Division Band, California National Guard from Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos under the baton of Chief Warrant Officer Chris Fossmo. The Redondo Union High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC, the Coastal Naval Sea Cadets and the Scouts are supporting the service.
The service will be followed by a BBQ picnic sponsored by the Redondo Elks. The BBQ is free for all veterans and members of the military. A $5 donation is requested from all others. To RSVP for the BBQ, call the Elks Lodge at 208-473-6626.
